Preventative Dentistry

Bethel Dental Preventative DentistryPreventative Dentistry is perhaps the single most important factor in long-term dental health.

A combination of professional dental services and home care is required to prevent dental problems and diseases.

Regular Dental Visits

Visiting your dental practitioner regularly is vital for several reasons. First of all, many issues cannot be seen with the naked eye. Our team uses advanced techniques such as dental microscopes and digital x-rays to examine teeth with thoroughness and precision.

Digital x-rays are used in conjunction with the latest computer programs to detect even the tiniest defects deep within the teeth and gums. This makes it possible to diagnose decay or disease long before it is evident to the patient.

A professional cleaning is also necessary twice a year to prevent damaging build-up on the teeth and gums. Plaque, tartar, and certain stains are not easy to remove, even with regular brushing and flossing. Your dental hygienist can remove these during your visit.

Home Care

Even with the most advanced professional dental care, your teeth won’t remain healthy and strong without proper oral hygiene at home. Brushing and flossing at least twice daily are the two most important parts of your home-care regimen. Brushing after every meal is even better. Fluoride mouth rinse is also a good way to strengthen your tooth enamel. All of these measures together will greatly reduce plaque build-up and decay.
